Where are my notes?
In the Files app, under iCloud Drive › Marky › Notes. Each note is a plain text file you can open in any app. Inside Marky, tap the list button in the bottom bar to see every note and story.
Marky says "iCloud is off"
Your notes are being saved on this iPhone only. Turn on iCloud Drive in your iPhone's Settings and Marky moves them into iCloud by itself, so they're backed up and appear on your other devices.
Backups and getting things back
Marky makes a backup each day you open it after writing. Find them in Settings › Data › Backups, where you can also back up now or restore from a backup. Deleted notes wait in Recently Deleted for 30 days. Every earlier version of a note is in its History.
Why does my word count differ from Word's?
Marky counts words that contain a letter or a number, so a lone dash or a # scene break isn't a word. Word sometimes counts those. Under a hard limit, leave yourself a word or two of room.
How is writing time counted?
Pauses of up to two minutes while typing count as writing. When words arrive all at once from dictation, Marky counts the time it takes to say them, plus a moment of thinking first. Times are approximate.
I edited a note on two devices
Marky never throws either version away. If two versions collide, the other one is kept as its own note, named with "(other version)" and the date.
