The short version
Marky collects nothing. There are no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no accounts, and no analytics or advertising code from anyone else in the app. The developer can't see your writing or anything about how you use Marky.
Where your writing lives
Your notes, their history and your backups are stored on your iPhone and, when iCloud Drive is on, in your own iCloud Drive in a folder called Marky. Apple keeps them in sync across your devices under your Apple Account. They never go to any server run by Marky's developer; there isn't one.
Marky's settings (your theme, text size and similar choices, and the author details you can enter for manuscripts) are saved on your iPhone and synced through your own iCloud account.
What leaves your phone
Only what you choose to send. When you copy text or share an export (a PDF, a Word file, a text file), it goes wherever you send it. Author details are used only in exports you make, and anonymous exports leave them out.
Beta testing
If you test Marky through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share crash reports and any feedback you choose to send with the developer, as described in Apple's TestFlight terms. Marky itself sends nothing to the developer.

This site has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. It's hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) to run the service.
